There are times in typical business life when managing people and relationship issues can be incredibly complex and challenging... after all, these are people, not machines we’re dealing with! When workplace relationships have become particularly tricky, I have engaged the services of Karina Butera. She is skilled in identifying key motivational, interpersonal and broader cultural factors and sets to work to remedy the situation on three levels: the organisation, the team (or partnership) and the individual. Karina’s work has benefitted us both proactively and reactively. She has helped us explore and improve our internal policies regarding gender and interpersonal relationship issues in the workplace so that we now have clear guidelines that help us manage risk and avoid potentially harmful situations occurring. There have been some particularly delicate interpersonal workplace relationship issues that Karina has helped us establish personalised solutions for (for example, issues such as interpersonal attraction, power imbalances and personality clashes). Her coaching skills, along with her realism, understanding of human behaviour and her general warmth as a person means that all parties feel comfortable in working through the issues and are quickly able to identify the ideal strategies required to meet their particular objectives.
